Hot-washed PET Flakes
Hot-washed PET flakes are
derived from grinding and cleaning PET plastic waste in hot wash machines,
which remove contaminants like labels and caps. Proper recycling involves
advanced equipment to ensure high purity, minimizing PVC contamination to below
200 ppm for high-quality flakes. These flakes are used in textiles and other
durable goods, with effective recycling offering significant profitability and
environmental benefits. Proper separation and processing are crucial for
success in PET recycling.
Hot Wash PET Flakes
The collected waste is divided into two categories. Waste such as mesh, baskets, and others are in one group, and PET is in another category. Due to the increasing use of PET, a competitive market has formed between fresh PET and second-hand PET. Substituting hot wash PET flakes with the first category of PET for higher profit has drawn special attention from manufacturers to purchase recycled PET. High-quality hot wash PET flakes can be reinforced by blending with other materials to produce strong and resistant products.
Washing, separating labels, removing impurities, and producing pure PET are done by hot wash machines. Having only a hot wash machine is not sufficient to produce high-quality hot wash PET flakes, and the method of washing and separating impurities will significantly reduce contamination. A float tank machine is necessary to purchase hot-wash PET flakes, which are responsible for washing and separating impurities. A crucial task in producing hot wash PET is to separate the labels and caps from PET, which the float tank machine does part of.
The labels and caps are transferred to a smaller tank, and PET settles at the bottom of the machine due to its higher weight. The sanding machine helps reduce contamination and clarify hot wash PET by scraping and cleaning PET. It also separates adhesives that have not been separated in the hot wash machine but have reduced adhesion. After passing through hot water and sieving, which performs the separation, pure PET is produced successfully, and the process of creating hot wash PET flakes is done.
