Hot-washed PET flakes are produced by grinding, washing and thoroughly cleaning post-consumer PET plastic waste through a hot-wash process. The process removes contaminants such as labels, adhesives, caps, dirt and other foreign materials, resulting in clean, high-purity PET flakes suitable for further industrial processing.
The collected plastic waste is first sorted to separate PET bottles from other materials such as plastic mesh, baskets and miscellaneous non-PET items. The PET bottles are then further sorted, crushed and processed through a hot-wash line. Proper separation and advanced washing technology are essential to achieving consistent quality and minimizing contamination, particularly PVC contamination, which should be maintained below 200 ppm for high-quality applications.
The growing use of PET has created a strong and competitive market for both virgin PET and recycled PET. High-quality hot-washed PET flakes can serve as a cost-effective substitute for virgin PET in a wide range of applications, including the production of Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF), polyester yarn, textiles and other durable plastic products.
Depending on the end application, recycled PET flakes may also be blended with other compatible materials to enhance product strength, durability and performance. Effective sorting, washing and quality control are therefore critical to producing commercially valuable PET flakes while delivering both economic and environmental benefits through resource recovery, waste reduction and reduced dependence on virgin raw materials.
Hot-Wash PET Flake Processing
The production of high-quality hot-washed PET flakes involves several stages, including washing, label and cap separation, impurity removal, and final purification. Simply installing a hot-wash machine is not sufficient to produce consistently high-quality PET flakes. Proper sorting, washing, separation and contamination control are equally important.
A float tank is an essential part of the process. It helps separate PET flakes from lighter contaminants such as labels, caps and other floating materials. Because PET has a higher density, it sinks to the bottom of the tank, while lighter materials float and are removed separately.
One of the most important steps in PET recycling is the effective removal of labels, caps, adhesives and other foreign materials. The separated labels and caps are collected in a separate tank, while the PET flakes are recovered from the bottom of the float tank.
A friction or scrubbing washer further improves the quality of the flakes by mechanically cleaning their surfaces and removing residual dirt, adhesives and other contaminants that may remain after the hot-wash process. The mechanical action helps loosen adhesives that have already been weakened by hot water.
Finally, the PET flakes pass through additional hot-water washing, rinsing and screening stages to remove remaining impurities and achieve the required level of purity. Through proper sorting, hot washing, density separation, mechanical cleaning and screening, high-quality hot-washed PET flakes can be produced for use as a reliable recycled raw material.

Hot/Cold Washed Brown PET Flakes
Recreated from post-consumer PET bottles, our PET contains the least amount of contamination. PET is a semi-crystalline plastic featuring high strength and ductility, excellent machining properties, which ensures a wide range of applications.
Brown PET is washed and sorted by our team of experts bringing you only the best quality product. Containing only ~1% moisture, the flakes are used for a variety of purposes including producing polyester used in clothes, PET sheets, and also reshaping it back into bottles. Our products and processes are environment friendly.
Polyester:
Polyester accounts for roughly 60% of the world’s production of PET, more than what is used for making bottles. Polyester fabrics are used in clothes and home furnishing, from shirts to hats, curtains, blankets, etc.
Bottles:
Roughly 30% of the world's production of PET is used to produce bottles. After the bottles are used by consumers, they are collected, cleaned and crushed, then hydrolyzed to be recycled back into bottles.
Polyester Strapping:
This is a very strong material and can take up a lot of tension before elongating. It can be used to produce polyester strapping used in the packaging industry.
Hot/Cold Washed Green PET
Hot & Cold washed green PET flakes reproduced from post-consumer PET. PET is a semi-crystalline plastic featuring high strength and ductility, excellent machining properties, which ensures a wide range of applications.
After plastic bottles are used by consumers, they are collected, cleaned, shredded and processed into PET again. Any contamination like labels and caps are removed carefully by our team of professionals so that the final product is as pure as possible.
